Black Hawk Down
A Presentation by: Zane Younkin
The original purpose of deploying troops into the area known as Somalia was to provide aid to the disaster stricken country.
Unfortunately, the former president at the time named Farah Aidid ordered his militia to ambush the UN forces.
After the incident, the UN sent a task force to go and bring the former president to justice. The original time of the operation was supposed to be 90 mins, however, they returned 17 hours with only one black hawk and missing men.
After regearing, the rangers went back for their comrades, resulting in more lost lives. After the rescue operation, the UN pulled out and the country degenerated into anarchy.
