The Boston Massacre
My biggest grievance was the Boston Massacre.
Why was this so hard on the colonists?
When the colonists attacked the British troops on March 5th, 1770, 5 died and 6 got injured. This caused most of the colonists to protest which caused Lieutenant Hutchinson to send the troops to a island farther away.
What did the colonists do as a result of the Massacre?
When a town meeting was called it was agreed that the troops were to go to Castle Island off of the Boston Harbor. This was considered an act of rebellion and this resulted in the colonial sentiment turning against King George III.
