Relation to an Ancient Civilization, Person or Situation
The Economic Crisis in Greece relates to some of the civilizations we studied this year. In some ways, it relates to Rome, when the jews were being used as slaves to the Roman emperor. They were looking up to the Messiah, to save them, but in the real world, you cannot rely on anyone but yourself. I know it sounds a little dark, but, Greece was relying on the loans of other countries to get them out of the metaphorical, hole that they dug themselves into. Also, the Jews had a decent amount of freedom, and so does Greece. They are not limiting their use of money, but rather taxing the people an unlivable amount for things as simple as heating oil. As they are doing this, they are causing distress for their wildlife and plants. Since the heating oil prices were raised, too much, the people are going into the forest and cutting down trees, and heating their houses with fireplaces. This, not only, slowly deteriorates the forests and trees, but all of the animals and creatures that are inhabited in them.
