Mercury

Mercury has a mass of 3.285 × 10^23 kg and earth has a masss of 5.972 × 10^24 kg.

The size of mercury is 1,516 miles and the size of earth is 3,959 miles.

It takes murcury 88 days to orbit the sun, it takes earth 365.256 days to orbit the sun. Mercury is the closest to the sun so it orbits faster because it has a shorter pathway.

It takes mercury 1407.5 hours to rotate once.

Mercury's atmosphere contains small amounts of hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. It also has even tinier amounts of sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

the side exposed to the Sun remains exposed for some time, allowing surface temperatures to reach up to a molten 465 °C. Meanwhile, on the dark side, temperatures can drop off to a frigid -184°C. Mercury varies between extreme heat and extreme cold and is not the hottest planet in our Solar System.

Mercury does not have any moons.

I chose this planet because in previous projects i would do othes and this one is one of the ones i havent done.

Two spacecrafts have visited the planet Mercury so far. The first was called Mariner 10. During 1974 and 1975, Mariner 10 flew by Mercury three times and mapped about half of the planet's surface.

Some of Mercury's Facts. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and is also the smallest of the eight planets in our solar system. For every 2 orbits of the Sun, which takes around 88 Earth days, Mercury completes three rotations of its axis. It is gravitationally locked and this rotation is unique to the solar system.
