Polo


Polo originated in Persia. It was invented between the years 600 B.C. and 100 A.D.

Polo is a sport played while riding a horse. It is a team sport were the objective is to score as much goals as possible on the other team by taking a wooden stick and hitting a white ball into a goal. There are two teams with four players each. a full game of polo is around an hour and a half.

The length of a polo field is 10 acres. Three penalty's in polo are a goal is awarded, a free hit from 30 yards, a free hit from 40 yards. The equipment is a ball, boots, helmet, gloves, knee guards, mallets,  jersey, polo whip and spurs.

  There is a polo Olympic league. Polo used to not be a game, it started as a war training and eventually became a fun sport.
