  • Completed in 1935

  • Many boats go through it many times of the day
  • Not little boats like big cargo boats that carry many things for long distances

  • They cleaned most of it up
  • Still a lot of oil is still in the water
  • Huge disaster
  • Killed 11 people 
  • Killed many species 
  • Many people went out of business

  • Category 4 hurricane 
  • Matthew hit Haiti, Bahamas, North America, Cuba, Jamaica, Caribbean, Dominican Republic, 
  • Destroyed many things in its path
  • Left flooding in many places

Ring of Fire

  • A string of volcanoes
  • It is shaped more like a horseshoe than a circle
  • 452 volcanoes, most are active
  • Stretches from the Southern tip of South America, up the coast of North America, across the Bering Strait, down through Japan, then into New Zealand
  • Most earthquakes happen around here
