Back in time during the revolutionary war, they did not have radios so they used music to communicate from long distances.
Music during war.
Males that were younger than 16 or older than 50 could serve in war to be a musician. On the battlefield, musicians helped keep order during battle.
Fifers and drummers were used to help regulate the working day.
Music was provided for ceremonies that was used to start and end the working day.
