- was knocked from sky during fight with Quetzalcoatl

- giants created but destroyed by jaguars in fight

Second Sun

- Quetzalcoatl takes over as sun → creation of humans

- human corruption → humans blown away with hurricanes (after being turned into monkeys)

Third Sun

- Tlaloc (god of rain and water) becomes sun

- Tezcatlipoca takes his wife

- Tlaloc becomes angry and refuses to allow rain → drought

- in a fit of rage, he burns the earth with rain fire

Fourth Sun

- Tlaloc's sister becomes next sun but jealousy from Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl causes her to be struck down

- with her descent, the sky opens up and destroys earth again with massive flood

Fifth and Final Sun

- two gods offer selves (Tezcatlipoca and Nanahuatzin), but Tezcatlipoca is too scared to jump into fire, so Nanahuatzin goes and then he follows

- 2 suns rise, Tezcatlipoca becomes moon

- predicted to end with earthquakes
