• Aphrodite had the ability to make anyone feel feelings of desire for any two people.
  • She was the goddess of love, beauty, and everlasting youth.
  • She could also make any man fall in love with her.


There is two different stories about Aphrodite's birth.

One says that she was born from the foam waters on the island Cyprus.

The other is that she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione.


  • Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus, but she really liked Ares and Ares liked her too.
  • Some of her children included: Harmonia, Hermaphroditus, Eros(a.k.a Cupid), Aeneas, Eryx, Peitho, The Graces, Tyche, and Priapus.
  • Her daughter Harmonia, married a man named Herodotus.
  • She gave her daughter a necklace that brought disaster to future generations.

The Quest of the Golden Fleece

  • Hera and Aphrodite were never friends, but she went to Aphrodite for help to assist on the Quest of the Golden Fleece.
  • Aphrodite liked Jason, the hero of the Quest of the Golden Fleece.


  • Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite wanted Zeus to judge a contest "For the Fairest", which was a golden apple.
  • Zeus didn't want to judge,  so they asked Paris.
  • Paris chose Aphrodite as the winner of "the fairest".


  • Aphrodite has symbols that represent her, some include: apple, dolphin, doves, swan, and rabbits.


  • Did you know? Aphrodite was the model for the famous sculpture "Venus De Milo".
  • Her roman name is Venus, and the planet is named after her.
  • She is still famous today, because famous artists use her in songs.

People made these greek myths, because they were important parts of their lives.

They also gave meaning, religious rituals, weather, and what people saw around them.
