Harriet Tubman was born a slave  somewhere between the years of 1819 through 1823 in, Dorchester County, Maryland.

Harriet Tubman's birth name was Araminta Ross, and her nickname was Minty.

At age 24 Harriet got married to John Tubman , John was a free black man.

Harriet Tubman was a disabled woman because when she was about 12 years old she got hit in the head with a 2 pound iron that was meant to be thrown at another slave which caused her to have sleeping spells.



what did she do?

Harriet Tubman was an American slave who escaped slavery in the south in 1849. She helped hundreds of slaves to freedom in the North on the underground railroad.  The underground railroad led them to Philadelphia
