About Social Phobia

• Categorized by an unreasonable fear of social and performance situations

• Includes public speaking, parties, personal interactions, meeting new people, emailing, etc.

• Symptoms: sweating, irregular pulse, increased heart rate, anxiety & social isolation

• More common in females

• Earliest age of onset: 13 years

• Decreased social interaction

• Excessive hair loss

• Gastritis, stomach ulcers, and irritable colon

• Insomnia, headaches, irritability, panic attacks, and depression

• Hypertension or cardiovascular disease

• Eczema or psoriasis

• Vaginal infection in women and impotence in men

• Mouth ulcers and dryness

Process


1. Create pre-survey template reflecting prior research 

2. Tailor questions to draw insight towards creating website 

3. Create website template expressing research as well as knowledge obtained from survey 

4. Website must appeal to the current generation (adolescents) through graphics, videos, and concise text 

5. Meet with mentors to edit and approve website content 

6. Publish website when complete along with post-survey 

7. Publicize website by announcing it to specific classrooms in addition to posters that will be distributed around the school 

8. If possible, speak to Ms. Rivera (principal) to announce website in the morning 

9. Keep track of how many viewers the website has and how many participants filled out the survey 

10. Analyze data from the post-survey and define whether website was effective
