Zane Dulin- Neptune

Neptune facts:

*neptunes size-15,299 mi

*orbit time-165 years

*rotation time-16h 6m

*temperature- -200 degrees/-218 degrees Celsius

 *mass-1.024 × 10^26 kg

*atmospheric compostion- it mostly consists of hydrogen and helium, with trace amounts of methane, water, ammonia and other ices.

Neptunes moons:

Neptune has 13 moons, Triton, Nereid, Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Larissa, Proteus, and Galatea, plus five smaller, unnamed moons.

Triton has a surface of mostly frozen nitrogen, a mostly water-ice crust,[13] an icy mantle and a substantial core of rock and metal. The core makes up two-thirds of its total mass.

Triton has a mean density of 2.061 g/cm3[5] and is composed of approximately 15–35% water ice

It orbits Neptune at a distance of about 23,571,000 km and is about 42 kilometers in diameter (assuming albedo of 0.04).[4] It is named after Laomedeia, one of the 50 Nereids

Compared to earth

Neptunes orbit time- 165 years

Earths orbit time- 365 days

Neptuns rotation- 16 hours, 6 minutes

Earths rotation- 23 hours, 56 minutes

The reason I chose Neptune

The reason that I chose Neptune was becauseit is a blue planet. (Blue is one of my favorite colors). It also has a really cool moon named triton. It is also really far away and not 1 person has visited it thats why I picked neptune

Fact that voyager 2 found about the planet Neptune

Voyager 2 found out that neptunes dark spot/ storm Rotates counterclockwise

Fun facts

It was discovered September 23rd 1846 by Johann Gottfried Galle, Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier, and John Couch Adams.
