figurative language 

simile-Is a figure of speech that makes a comparison between two unlike things using the word like or as.

Metaphor-Is a figure of speech that makes a comparison between two things that are basically unlike but have something in common  

Personification-A figure of speech in which human qualities are given to an object,animal,or idea

Hyperbole-Figure of speech in which the truth is exaggerated for emphasis in humorous effect

internal conflict-Psychological struggle in the mind of a character 

external conflict-a struggle between a character and a outside force 

forshadowing-Hints to sugguest events that will happen later on in the story

allusion-indirect refernce to a literary work

dialogue-conversation between two or more people as a feature of a book,play,or movie

Imagery-visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work
