Bobsledding in Monaco

It all started in 1903 when the first bobsledding course was built in St. Moritz ,Switzerland.

Bobsledding is a team sport. Usually there are 2 to 4  teammates involved in the race. One person starts it off by running until they get to the starting point. Then everyone is in the bobsled twisting and turning down narrow ice tracks in a gravity powered sled.

Bobsledding

When you are bobsledding you get an unlimited amount of time to go down the track. You will get scored by the two runs or heats.

A bobsledding track is only about 1,300-1,400 meters long. When you are racing you will want to be the fastest person going down the track.

Penalties and fouls

Penalties and fouls for bobsledding. When you are bobsledding you can't lift or drag the bobsled. Also, you can not use a luge bobsled.

You will need to have the right equipment for the game or else you can't play in the tournament.

Equipment

When you bobsled you will need special equipment. For instance, you need a helmet to protect your head from injuries. Also, you will need brakes so you don't slip or fall on the ice. To prevent that from happening the brakes have metal teeth on the bottom that go into the ice. When you are running on the track you will need start shoes. Start shoes have spikes on the soles for traction. You will also need a sled, push handles, two-man or four-man sled specifications and steering controls. You will need this stuff when you are riding or going on a track/course.

Leagues and how the sprt has changed

In bobsledding there are many teams for it. Also, there is one event that people all around the world watch, The Olymics.

Also, people the were over weight tried to make the bobsled more faster and it worked so now we have to have skilled athletes.

In the old days people didn't have a weight limit for the bobsled but now we have to have a limit.
