Weight Lifting is a very popular sport around the world. Weight lifting originated in Europe and America in but people in Russia started weight lifting in the late 1800s. The rules for weight lifting are very simple some rules are the non of the body except for the feet should touch the platform,The lifter can not press out the barbell,The lift has to be in one continuous movement those are most of the important rules in weight lifting.
You can have as many people as you want on a team but you can only have one person lifting for your team unless the member that is lifting gets hurt. A weight lifting competition can last as long as four hours the competition lasts this long because there are numerous teams taking turns lifting more than once. As the members lift the weight you are lifting goes up and if you cant lift a certain weight you lose points for your team. There are no field dimensions for weight lifting you use a bench and weights that's about it. Some basic strategies are don't lift with your back, Don't pre ex oust in other words don't tire your self even before the competition starts. Increase weights every week. one of the major penalties in weight lifting is the use of steroids or any other drug or supplement like that. The main equipment weight lifters use are weight bars, benches, There are many leagues for this sport they have a youth league, Olympic, adult,Champion ship league. The sport has not really changed sense it started the only thing that changed is the amount of weight the lifter lifts and the equipment they use.
