Deforestation is when people remove trees for resources and flat land. Tropical rain forests is where the most intense deforestation is. One example is the rain forest in Brazil. One downside from cutting down trees is that animals lose their habitats.

Desertification is when the desert spreads because of over grazing in the Steppe by animals, like the Sahara. The Sahara is getting larger and larger and this effects many people and how they live and adapt to their environment. It effects them by taking away their main source of water, which effects their farms. It effects the animals by them not having water to drink and grass to graze on.
A hurricane is a major tropical storm that originates in the Atlantic Ocean. Hurricanes effect humans in many ways. They destroy their homes and many trees fall because of the strong winds formed by the hurricane. Hurricane Matthew is happening right this moment and it is currently a category 3 hurricane. Hurricane Matthew has killed about 1,000 people in just Haiti. About 19 people so far in the U.S. have died. More than 3 million people have been evacuated from Florida.
The Tri-State Tornado
On March 18, 1925 a deadly tornado traveled through the U.S. The Tri-State tornado was very deadly. It killed 541 people in just 40 minutes. In all it killed about 695 people. This tornado had many funnels. It stayed on the ground for about 3 hours, traveling about 62 mph. This tornado ranks the worst tornado in the United States. It destroyed many homes and stores, it tore down everything in its path. It went from Missouri to southern Illinois to southwestern Indiana. Which is why it is called the tri-state tornado, it went through 3 states.
