A Survival Meditation

The following meditation will begin and end with the sound of the mindfulness bell.

breathing in

i am aware of my pain.

i am aware that i am not my pain.

breathing in

i am aware of my past.

i am aware that i am not my past.

i am aware of my anger.

i am aware that i am not my anger.

i am aware of my despair.

Why I Chose the Meditation

I chose this meditation because all of us have done things that we are not proud of or that we regret. However, it is important to remember that those things do not define us and that they are in the past. We as humans are always changing and we are much different now than we once were. A person should not let past mistakes control their present or their future.
