Volleyball started to be played in the country of Europe in the year 1908.
The rules were established in the year 1897, in the official rules were included in the 1897 edition of the first official handbook of the North American YMCA Athletic League.
1)There are a total of 12 players on the field at one time, with six for each team. Every time a point is scored by that team, after the opponents serve, they must rotate in a clockwise position.
2)The game can last anywhere from half an hour to two hours, depending on the skill of the team.
3)The way you score in a game of volleyball is by trying to get the ball to touch the floor of your opponents side, but you can only score if your team is serving.
4)Major fouls include contacting the net, lifting the ball, blocking a serve, hitting the ball two times in a row, stepping over the service line on a serve, reaching over the net, or reaching under the net.
There are two major league's, one for men and one for women. Knee pads and elbow pads are common use inside the game.
The Field Demensions
The game is played on a volleyball court 18 meters (59 feet) long and 9 meters (29.5 feet) wide, divided into two 9 m × 9 m halves by a one-meter wide net placed so that the top of the net is about 7'11 5/8" above the center of the court.
