  • St Andrew's day is Scotland's official national day
  • It represents the start of the holidays
  • St Andrew's day is also an official "flag day" in Scotland.
 Because the Scottish flag (The Saltire), can be called "Saint Andrew's cross")

buildings frontages

GOD bless our land, our Scotland,

Grey glen an' misty brae,

The blue heights o' the Coolins,

The green haughs yont the Spey,

The weary wastes on Solway,

Snell winds blaw owre them a' —
