  • 29 people died of radiation poisoning. 
  • It became a place for tourism in 2011.
  • This is a result of the fourth reactor exploding.

Deforestation in the Amazon

  • Largest rain forest in the world.
  • Since 1978, the rain forest has been going through deforestation.
  • This rain forest is the Amazon.
  • This act is a result of agricultural needs.
  • It has declined even further since 1978.
  • In 2004, about 80 percent of the rain forest cover has dropped.

Flint Tornado

  • This tornado killed 116 people.
  • It was the deadliest twister ever measured in Michigan.
  • It injured 844 people.
  • The Flint Tornado happened on June 8, 1953.

The Ring of Fire

  • It's an area of volcanic activity.
  • Horseshoe shaped
  • Result of plate tectonics
  • 90% of earthquakes happen here
  • Most of wold's largest volcanic eruptions occur.
  • There is 452 volcanoes.

BP Oil Spill in 2010

  • Largest offshore spill in US history
  • 4.9 million barrels were spilled
  • Ruined the shrimping industry
  • Caused by cutting cost and equipment
