JUDO IN KOREA

Judo originated in Japan in 1882. It's known as an Olympic Sport. The rules to play the game are that the athletes .Judokas. have to bow before they step on the mat, and the people playing against one another must bow to each other before and after each practice or actual game. Each game is about 5 minutes. Judo has changed overtime since it was started. 1 of the most important things that has changed is the rules. A few years after it was created, Judo had a rule that said no use of locking fingers, toes, and wrists in Judo matches. That is no longer a rule.

There are 3 ways the athletes can score. The first way is called Ippon, the second way is called Waza-ari, and the third way is called Yuko.

Major fouls occur when a athlete wears inappropriate clothing, or when people try to severely hurt one another.

Athletes must wear appropriate uniforms, (Gi) which is no longer than 5 cm above the ankles and wrists. Athletes CAN NOT intentionally injure the other opponent in any way. Only 2 people are aloud to participate in each game. Equipment people use in Judo are a mat, tape, uniforms.
